✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Adults: The standard dose is 50 mg, taken orally three times a day, preferably before meals. The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient’s condition and response.
• Elderly: Due to possible physiological decline, elderly patients should be closely monitored for adverse reactions. If side effects occur, dose reduction or discontinuation may be necessary.
• Pediatric Use: The safety and efficacy of Itopride Hydrochloride in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established; therefore, it is not recommended for this age group.

✔️ Contraindications:

Kytido is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to any of its components. It should not be used in patients where increased gastrointestinal motility could be harmful, such as those with:

• Gastrointestinal bleeding
• Mechanical obstruction
• Perforation

✔️ Caution should be exercised when taking Kytido alongside:

• Anticholinergic medications (e.g., Tiquizium bromide, Scopolamine butyl bromide, Timepidium bromide), as they may reduce the prokinetic activity of Kytido by inhibiting gastrointestinal motility.

✔️ Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

• The safety of Itopride Hydrochloride during pregnancy has not been confirmed. Therefore, it should only be used if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
• Limited animal studies suggest excretion into breast milk; however, due to insufficient human data, it is not recommended for breastfeeding women.

✔️ Warnings & Precautions

• Anaphylactic Reactions: Patients should be monitored for signs of anaphylaxis, such as hypotension, breathing difficulties, throat swelling, hives, paleness, and sweating. If these occur, discontinue the drug immediately and seek appropriate treatment.
• Liver Function Impairment & Jaundice: Cases of liver dysfunction and jaundice, marked by elevated AST (GOT), ALT (GPT), and γ-GTP levels, have been reported. If abnormalities arise, discontinue the medication and initiate necessary treatment.
• Caution with Acetylcholine Enhancement: Since Kytido enhances acetylcholine activity, it should not be used continuously if no significant improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms is observed.
• PTP Packaging Warning: Patients should remove the tablet from the press-through package (PTP) before ingestion. Accidental swallowing of the packaging material may cause esophageal injury or, in severe cases, perforation leading to serious complications like mediastinitis.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
